Essay - Should teenagers earn their pocket money?

Nearly every teenager get pocket money, but some of them have to work for it, for example help in the houshold. And I do not think that they should complain about when they have to do a little fork for their pocket money. I think this is a matter of course.

When children and teenagers learn early that they have to do something for their money, their future would be much more easier. Teenagers should understand that adults do not sit on the couch, watching TV and get money for doing nothing. Only when you work, you get money to survive in life.

I also would argue that when teenagers earn their money they will begin to value their money. They would not spend it for unnecessary things which they only buy because it looks sweet or cool, but they do not really need it. I think working is a good motivation to save the money for something they really want, for a example a computer game or a trip to Disneyland.

To sum up it is no big deal to give a hand in the household for money. Sure, if someone has to learn for school the parents would understand that. School is the most important thing, the mainwork for teenagers.

Why I'm a fan of modern technology

Do you have a mobile phone and a computer at home? Can you imagine a live without these things? I don't and I think that modern technology is great!

Let's take mobile phones for example. Nowaday everyone has one. Isn't it a nice thing, when you're bored while travelling with the train and you can take out your mobile and sending short messages or speaking with your friends and also listening to music? I do this very often and love it to spending my time with it.

Nearly everybody has a computer at home which is connected to the internet. You can chat and play with people all over the world, making friends and learning languages. Elder people would say that you can't learn languages reasonable through the internet, but I don't think so. My spanish, for example, becomes better and better because of chatting with a girl from Spain.

Modern technology is a good thing to get knowledge about things, which you are interested in, very fast. So it doesn't destroy your way of life like other people say.

Correction of the 1st Test

The Hans Brinker Hotel is a small building in Edward Street, near the center of Brighton. It's not far away from the sea.

The hotel doesn't look very luxurious and a little bit cold and old. There are about 100 rooms, which are very small and the facilities disappointed me a little bit. The bed was hard and uncomfortable and there's no bathroom, but a little washbasin.
All the furnitur is such narrow that you can't move around freely.

But the service was good. The people there were nice and friendly and also ready to bring a cup of hot chocolate oder a cup of tea for you at 3 o'clock in the morning.
The breakfast was also ok, but I looked into the kitchen and it looked awful. Everywhere there was dump and it was very unhygienic.

It's no place fpr a holiday with the family. But if there's a class who would love to make a school trip to Brighton, it's the right hotel for them. It isn't too expensive and the location is also good I think.

Mail to Adam

Dear Adam,

Thank you for your email. How are you? I hope you're well. I'm looking forward to you and your family and also the UK.

You have some nice hobbies. I never stood on a skateboard, but I'd love to try it out. Maybe you can teach it to me.
The only sport I do is basketball, do you also play it sometimes?
I know the Kaiser Chiefs. They are also one of my favourite bands. Which songs do you like from the band? I also like Billy Talent and Linkin Park. Do you also listen to them?

I also like to go to the cinema with my friends and playing computer games.

Yes, I'll be busy at the language school during the day I think. But if we'll do some things in the evenings, it will be a nice change. I'd love to go to a castle, do you now any in your near? I like to visit old castels, they are so interesting. But if you dont be interest in this thing, we can also do what you want. Going to a party for example, that would be also very nice. If you know some things you'd like to show me, let me know.

Lovely greetings from Austria.

Yours,

Elaisa

My best one-week school trip

I think every student has had a great school trip. Don't you also think so? I want to tell you about my schooltrip to Vienna. Maybe I give you new ideas for a school trip?! ;)

Well, the school trip to Vienna was the best one-week school trip i've ever had! We visited the "House of Music", the "Chocolate museum" and the opera. We also looked at the Stephansdom and it was really high and cool! The art museum and the nature museum were also very interesting. When you are in Vienna one day you have to go and see it. Also the Ring street is interesting, but also a very long way to see all the buildings. So it's nothing vor lazy people.

In the evenings you can do many things. We went to many cafés like starbucks or danced in the disco. Eating a pizza or some ice cream can also coutribute to a funny evening. Or you can take you boyfriend or girlfriend with you and go for a lovely and romantic walk through the wonderful streets or watch a romantic or funny film in the cinema. There are so many things you can do in Vienna. And also a nice thing for girls, there are also shops which are open till nice o'clock in the evening.

Well, the school trip was very funny and our class community feeling got strengthened much, I think. There are three new couples, who fellin love in Vienna for example.

At the end I want to say to you: If you have the chance to go to Vienna, do it!

Essay - Multicultural Society

Austria is a positive example of a multicultural society? Do you agree?

I think today mostly every state is a multicultural society. Austria is there no exclusion.
In Austria are more than 10% foreign persons who come from different countries from all over the world.

I also think that multiculturalism is good for every human. We can learn a lot of new things for example new languages, new religions, new culture, new food... I really like the food from China and Japan and also from Italy and France. If we only eat the food from our country, it will be boring at the time. Isn't it nice, when we have alternation?
And I also really interesting in learning new languages and get to know the different religions and cultures. That's fascinating for me.

But there also can be many problems. If in future come more and more people, there will be not enough place and jobs. And because of that, the people here get intolerant. But much people said that there are also pros, when people from different nations work at the same place. If there's for example a man from China, it will be good for the business, when he can speak with businessmen in China.

Austria is for me a multicultural society and I hope it's stay like this.

Bend it like Beckham

The film "Bend it like Beckham" was directed by Gurinder Chadha, released in 2002 and tells the story of the young Indian girl Jessminder. Her dream is to play in a footballteam, but the cultural rules are very strict.

Jessminder dreams about playing football in a professional team. She meets Jules, who plays in a football team for women and she invites Jess to play in the team. There she gets to know the coach Joe. But her family don't want that Jess plays football, because their Indian cultures are very strict to girls.

In the film is mostly playing Indian music and also songs like "She's a Lady" and "Do Your Thing". The music is a good choice for the film.

Parminder Nagra is playing the main character Jessminder Kaur Bhamra brilliant. Not anybody have the ability to act a character with so many ups and downs in the life like Jess.
And also Keira Knightley and Jonathan Rhys Meyers who are acting Jules Paxton and Joe merge into their role which is very entertaining.

Mr and Mrs Bahmras are acting by Anpupam Kher and Shaheen Khan. They play the strict but sometimes also appreciative parents of Jess very well and persuasive.
Jess' sister Pinky is well acting by Archie Panjabi and also Jules' parents Paula and Alan Paxton are very good and funny acting by Juliete Stevenson and Frank Harper.

The director wants to show with this film how strict other cultures can be. But when you really want to live your dream and believe in you, it will work. He done this very well.

The film is worth to recommendate. The actors are all very good and you can also learn to know new cultures. It's well done, interesting and also funny. Perfect for old and young.
